Available in both 50 W and 100 W versions, the ENGL Artist Edition amp has a very special history! This hidden gem got its start as a secret prototype amp that became legendary as it passed between the iconic studios of Los Angeles. Initially based on the E650 Ritchie Blackmore amp, ENGL modified it further for another artist back in 2005. That new version, with EL34 tubes in the power amp stage, offered increased dynamics and unmatched tone. But the amp was never released beyond the prototype stage. Instead, it ended up ENGL’s Los Angeles showroom. But word got out, and it made the rounds through various studios in the music metropolis, and was played by a list of some of the most renowned guitar greats of all-time. Eventually, due to the great response from these world-class players, ENGL decided to raise this model from the prototype stage to the status of an official amp… and now it’s yours to enjoy.
